Gorsedh Kernow Awards

I am honoured to have been awarded a Certificate of Recognition for Creativity by Gorsedh Kernow for ‘A Shanty For Cornish Youth’, joining many other fantastic names in Cornish culture and community. Read more about the Gorsedh and the awards here:

The awards ceremony took place on 3rd September 2021 in Bude-Stratton as part of the festivities surrounding Gorsedh Kernow.

A Shanty For Cornish Youth: "Through poetry, interviews and music, A Shanty For Cornish Youth explores Cornish brain drain, the emigration of young minds looking for opportunities elsewhere, and whether they can keep hold of their identity in their new environment."

New Creatives is supported by Arts Council England and BBC Arts.

A Shanty For Cornish Youth was first aired on BBC Introducing Arts with Huw Stephens on BBC 6 Music on 19/07/2021. It is not currently available to listen to, but keep an eye out for its public release soon.
